Rationale: This mircolearning lesson was developed to provide learners with a brief, information filled, overview of rhetorical devices and rhetorical appeals. This lesson was presented at the beginning of a unit which required learners to perform in-depth analysis of U.S. seminal documents. 

Results: Learners complete the microlearning lesson to gain a general understanding and familiartity of rhetorical devices and rhetorical appeals before the start of the unit. The interactive matching knowledge check within the lesson promotes active learning and comprehension of core concepts. 

Writing a Thesis Statement

Tools Used: Nearpod

Time: 2 hours 

Rationale: This Nearpod lesson is an interactive lesson that allows learners to participate in writing sample thesis statements. This lesson promotes active learning, particpation, and engagement of all learners. 

Results: Learners are engaged in active learning throughout this entire lesson by participating in the writing of thesis statements. By the conclusion of this lesson, learners are able to compose a well-developed thesis statement for their own writing. 

Using Technology for Teaching & Learning

Tools Used: Screencastify- Animoto, LiveBinders, PowerPoint, Powtoon, Prezi Video, Wideo,  

Time: 13 hours 

Rationale: The materials and resources provided in this course were designed and developed to instruct educators on how to utilize a variety of technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Housed within this course are infographics, handouts, video clips, and presentations. The collection of materials and resources allows for an educator to feel confident when integrating technology into their classroom for teaching and learning.  

Results: This course is designed to be self-paced, which allows learners to review materials and resources at their own pace. Learners will gain more from the course by allowing the flexibilty to move at one's own pace.
